Creamy Spicy Thai Style Soup

The reason I've called this creamy 'thai style' soup is because the combination of fennel and parsnip gives this a beautiful Thai style flavour. Bizarrely and yet oh so deliciously.

This soup is packed full of punch, as always. It helps with improved digestion, immune function and adrenal fatigue.

Parsnips are nutrient packed; they aid better immune function and as a good example of complex carb they also aid and improve better digestion. They also support the adrenals given their standing as a complex carb and good example of a soluble fibre.

Fennel is yet another nutrient dense food that contains polyphenols, flavonoids and antimicrobial properties. It is literally a powerhouse of good nutrition and aids adrenal fatigue again due to it's standing as a soluble fibre of the highest order.

And then there are the usual suspects for good immune and endocrine health, carrot, garlic and spring onions.

Recipe

Ingredients

  • Naturli butter
  • Big glug of good quality extra virgin olive oil *
  • Garlic, minced
  • Carrot, cut into small chunks
  • Fennel, cut into smallish slices
  • Parsnip, cut into small chunks
  • Veg stock (9 meals from anarchy, uncorrupted)
  • Cabbage, shredded
  • Spring onions (for serving)
  • Buckwheat soba noodles

Method

Melt butter and oil in a big soup pot, add garlic, carrots, fennel and parsnip and sauté for ten minutes until veg has absorbed the butter. Add stock and water (enough to cover veg) and bring to a boil before simmering for ten minutes. Add shredded cabbage and mix well. Simmer for a further ten minutes and then blend to a creamy consistency.

When the soup is close to being ready, add in the buckwheat soba noodles and cook to cook within the soup. Once the noodles are ready, pour into bowls and add the chopped spring onions on top for extra crunch and texture. If you fancy being a little more adventurous you could even add crispy home cooked kale chips or crispy seaweed, or all 3!

You can even add more crunchy veggies on top to really pack those nutrient punches in, which is great if you are on a restricted diet due to intolerances and need to find more interesting ways to fill you up at meals.

Serve and enjoy!

Warm Roast Salad

I absolutely love a warm roast veg salad and this one packs so much punch that you will not only fall in love with the taste but also with the effects it has on the body.

Fennel is one of the most nutrient dense vegetables there is. It is packed with so much goodness it really does take my breath away.Polyphenols, flavonoids and antimicrobial properties make it immune boosting, energy boosting and makes it a great addition to a adrenal fatigue diet. It aids in better digestion, boosts gut microbiome levels and improves overall thyroid health. It really is one mean, delicious tasting superfood.

Beetroot is yet another contender for superfood as it too is packed full of much of the goodness I've mentioned above in terms of immune, thyroid and adrenal support. Beetroot also aids better heart health, but please do go easy with it if you are in the throws of gut repair as beetroot contains many compounds that affect gut health. If your gut is really weak beetroot will be too overpowering for it and so make sure you use it during times of better or good gut health only.

Sweet potato is a beautiful complex carb, soluble fibre and is packed full of Vitamin C and so much more, and courgette is immune boosting and adrenal supporting and then kale is so rich in Vitamin B's, C and K not to mention manganese and so much more.

Recipe

Ingredients

  • Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • Beetroot cut into chunks
  • Sweet potato cut into chunks
  • Courgette cut into discs
  • Fennel cut into slices
  • Kale
  • Grated carrot
  • Activated almonds / red skin nuts (organic)
  • Mixed seeds
  • Coconut amino’s *
  • Cous cous or buckwheat

Method

Pre heat the oven to gas mark 6. Prep your vegetables. When ready, pop the beetroot and sweet potato into a roasting pan and coat in the oil. Add pink Himalayan salt, shake well and pop in the oven to roast for roughly 10 minutes. Add the courgette and fennel, coating in the hot oil and roast for a further 10 - 15 minutes. Whilst they are roasting steam the kale with some pink Himalayan salt.

When it’s all cooked put the kale in the bottom of a bowled dish followed by your grain of choice. Then, pile up your warm components, adding the beetroot, fennel, courgette, and sweet potato before adding the cold components of grated carrot and, if you are able to eat them, the nuts and seeds. When all done, again assuming you are OK to eat it, drizzle some lovely coconut amino’s all over the top and enjoy.

You'll find a link of to where to buy intolerance friendly Coconut Amino's in Kitchen Essentials.

Recipe

There is a common theme to all of my recipes...I make them up! I go by look, smell and taste making giving amounts to you difficult, so just play around until you get the taste you like. I like my soup to taste lovely and creamy and buttery but don't generally weight or measure so go with what tastes good to you :)

Ingredients:

15g Naturli (vegan butter than tastes and melts just like real butter)
Extra virgin olive oil
1/4 celeriac chopped
3 carrots chopped
1 large sweet potato (equivalent to 4 small)
50g vegan stock (9 meals from anarchy, uncorrupted)
Fresh filtered water
1 whole broccoli chopped
1 whole cauliflower chopped
1 bag of kale, torn into small pieces
1 large courgette chopped
Pink Himalayan salt

Method:

Melt butter and oil, throw in chopped celeriac, carrots and sweet potato and sauté for ten minutes until veg has fully absorbed butter and oil. Add stock and water (enough to cover veg) and bring to a boil before simmering for ten minutes. Add chopped broccoli, cauliflower, courgette and kale, mix well and top up with water (enough to just cover the veg). Simmer for a further ten minutes and then blend, serve and enjoy.

For additional nutritional value, and a grain aimed at boosting the adrenals and therefore energy levels, add cous cous to the pan once the soup is completely cooked. Leave it to cook in the hot soup for ten minutes before serving and enjoying.

Emotional Energy

What is Emotional Energy Cleansing?

I spent many years of my own chronic illness, convinced that my pain was physical. That something was wrong with my body, that something in me had broken. When emotional energy was first mentioned to me it didn't resonate at all, my body was falling apart and that had to be physical, right? I kept looking for the physical cause, the physical cure, but it never came.

It never came because it never was and it was only when I started to remove the emotional energy and the negative limiting beliefs I had about myself that I began to feel well again, my energy levels increased and the physical parts of my body began their repair.

Human beings are emotional beings

Human beings are made up of energy. We have energy bodies that just like our physical body can get muddy and dirty as we grow and go through life. We move energy around our bodies every second of the day; breathing, eating, laughing, crying. Have you ever been in the midst of a bad day when someone or something has made you laugh so hard that you instantly felt better? Or where you've cried yourself into an calmer, more easeful emotional state? Moving energy is not just good for us, it's necessary for our physical and mental health. Just like everything else in this physical world, emotions are energy (energy in motion) too, and so when we deal with an emotion in a healthy manner by laughing, crying, screaming, raging or venting it moves and flows freely through us. When we ignore an emotion, when we can't deal with it or don't want to deal with it, it gets stuck, and stuck energy causes blockages causing stagnant energy to accumulate until eventually our natural flow comes to a stop. When this happens, aches and pains, fatigue, sleep problems, gastro problems can all start, all before illness, disease and mental health issues start to plague us.

We are 'programmed' from a young age to hide our emotions

We are taught from a young age to ignore strong negative emotions; 'what are you crying for?' 'I'll give you something to really cry for', 'get up and stop crying', 'it wasn't that bad', 'stop complaining, there are plenty children out there who aren't as lucky as you', 'if you don't stop shouting X', 'be brave'. Whilst there is never any blame and our parents were only doing what they thought best, asking a child to ignore their emotions is the sure fire way to health and wellness issues as they grow, and worse than that it teaches them that emotions, vulnerability, sharing our pain, is weak and unwanted in the world they are about to become a part of, which is stage 1 of the 'mask' we all end up wearing, hiding our true selves away for fear of being seen as weak, vulnerable, pathetic or a cause for ridicule or judgement, to name just a few of the reasons why we don this mask of perpetual shame.

An ignored emotion will become the Captain of your ship

These trapped, blocked and stagnant emotions begin to dictate our thoughts, our beliefs and behaviours, they essentially take over the driving seat of us whilst we are relegated to the back seat. They shape our belief system: who we believe we are, what we believe our worth to be, whether we believe we ARE worth something, whether we are enough. We are conditioned to believe that we don't deserve (one study showed that the average toddler was told ‘no’ on average 400 times a day versus ‘yes’ only 20 times), that we’re not good enough (how many times were you asked ‘who do you think you are?’ as a child?), we’re taught not to think for ourselves (‘just do as you’re told’) and most of us never learn how to express this emotional pain as crying and yelling are no go areas all together, even in the most open of houses parents will eventually lose patience with a 'needy' shouting child at some point, not realising or appreciating that this is the child's way of learning, of growing, of freely expressing as when a child first comes into this world it knows how to do all of these things necessary to express itself, to be noticed, to have a voice, it knows how to be needy and vulnerable, a trait that should stay with us all through life but that is beaten out of us through a childhood where parents have stopped allowing this healthy expression of needful emotions, and in doing so teaches the child that to be accepted in the world, to get by, it has to 'be brave', to 'be strong', to 'just get on with it' and to never speak of it's pain for fear of being seen. Really seen.

This conditioning teaches us to suppress rather than process and so negative emotions get trapped inside of us. We start to carry the burden of lack; a lack of love, a lack of abundance, a lack of passion or happiness, we can dislike ourselves or, like me even go as far as to hate ourselves, we learn to blame ourselves as who else is to blame for our own ability not to be brave? Of course there is no blame as we are not meant to 'be brave' or to have a stiff upper lip. We have vocal cords and tear ducts by way of expression, of release, of getting out frustrations and concerns and yet we're taught to suppress them, so where does the blame lie? Not with ourselves, that's for sure. And so we get angry at ourselves and the world. We have to work so much harder than others because we've learned we're not enough just as we are and that starts to build exhaustion, physical and mental not to mention great swathes of resentment. Things don’t come easily to us because we are controlled by fear and insecurity and eventually, this starts to manifest as pain, illness and chronic disease.

Negative emotions disrupt our mental balance, throw our bodies out of balance and stop us from finding peace of mind. When we restore emotional balance, our lives change in ways we never thought possible.

Does any of this sound familiar?

If you are unsure if your situation could be caused by emotional energy, then consider if any of the following relate to you?

  • You blame yourself
  • You dislike how you look, believing you are fat, ugly, can’t bear to look at yourself in the mirror
  • You put others needs before your own
  • You feel angry, sad, irritable etc all the time
  • You lash out for no reason
  • You feel judged
  • You are unable to be vulnerable
  • You struggle to allow people to get close to you
  • You feel inferior
  • You think you are undeserving of love & affection
  • You feel childlike; unable to cope or do things for yourself
  • You have a destructive relationship with food/sex/drugs/alcohol
  • You can’t make decisions
  • Simple things feel like rejection
  • You believe yourself to be a burden
  • You have no purpose
  • You have no belief in yourself, little to no confidence
  • You easily experience feelings of shame
  • You are self-conscious
  • You are incredibly shy
  • You believe that happiness is for everyone else, but not you
  • You display compulsive behaviours
  • You put duty, role & responsibility over the needs of yourself
  • You don’t want to upset other people
  • You repress your true feelings - anger is the main one feeling you shouldn’t show or express it
  • How other people feel is your responsibility
  • You feel like you don’t belong
  • You overeat and then beat yourself up
  • You don’t feel safe
  • You feel fear
  • You believe yourself to be cruel

But you can break the cycle

You don’t need to feel like this. Suppressing your true feelings, who you truly are, putting on a brave face, a show, is exhausting and this exhaustion takes it's toll on you in some way, always. Fatigue, pain, illness, disease such as depression and anxiety, and the cycle go on.

I am here you help as you don’t have to live like this. You can change it all, take control of your thoughts, emotions, health and life.

Mind Body Connection

In it's most simplistic form, the Mind Body Connection is the connection between a person's behaviours and conditioning and their physical symptoms.

It is the tie between all that is contained and stored within our psyche's and subconscious mind's (as they are not the same contrary to popular belief) and all that becomes stuck, blocked and stagnant within us. All that becomes manifest in our physical cells.

The Mind Body Connection continues to fascinate me. It doesn't matter how many clients I work with, there is always a new discovery for me around this controversial area concerning the truth behind our health concerns. Scientists will agree to a point, doctors will disagree vehemently and yet time and time again the Mind Body Connection shows itself vividly to us all throughout the duration of our lives, often with us very much aware of it, often it runs in the background where we remain blissfully oblivious to it, but however it shows itself it is real and it is something we should all be aware of as it is the root cause of all illness and disease, all pain no matter the type and until we as a collective wake up and start to take responsibility for our own health and wellness, the epidemic of ill health will continue to rip through our body's and mind's and the body's and minds of our children.

Some examples of the connection between body and mind are below but if you'd like to know more about my finding's, how I work or what your own Mind Body Connection is please do reach out for a no obligation, compassionate chat about your own situation at kerry@enlightened-life.co.uk

Kerry - eating disorder & body dysmorphia

There are many examples of the Mind Body Connection I could give relating to my own experience but one that intrigued me more than most was my life long low to non existent appetite, poor metabolism, eating disorders and body dysmorphia. When I was small we weren't overly well off. Dad worked offshore and mum was at home with two small children to raise. Times were tough and tempers short at times, and one of the most common things I heard as a child was 'if you don't eat it / finish it you'll get it for breakfast'. Add to that a brother who had issues with food himself and a mother with her own body image and food concerns and those simple words 'if you don't eat it you'll get it for your breakfast' were all that was needed for me to develop a real dislike of food, and of eating (and of being told when and what to eat, which is important for other parts of my story as being told when and what to eat also led to me having severe bouts of Bulimia in later life, but that's a different Mind Body Connection as we all have so many) and it was this dislike that led to my metabolism slowing and appetite suppressing. Something so simple, so naive really as how many parents have said this to their child? Or at least 40 years ago when I was a child as I'd like to think we've progressed past force feeding our children now, but back then, it was common place in almost every household. This led to me rarely eating and when I did it was tasteful yet completely non nutritious as I'd learned to only ever eat what I wanted to and most week's all I could muster was a crisp sandwich, a packet of crisps or a  mars bar or snickers. I could go for days at a time not eating a thing, I even went for over two weeks once living on coffee and rum and diet cokes. I had no interest in food at all. It wasn't that I was deliberately starving myself (at least not always as my body dysmorphia did lead to that on occasion), just that my behaviour came from my conditioning and the conditioning stored within my psyche was that food was the devil and this told my body to shut down my appetite and metabolism as they were surplus to requirement.

To this day I struggle to eat a big meal or force myself when I am not hungry, not because my conditioning is still in the driving seat or because food triggers me, but because some things cannot be undone once done and my metabolism and appetite are just one of them. 40 years of being told that food is not good or necessary has left it's permanent mark on my body and that's OK, because I have learned how to love myself enough to feed myself multiple times a day, every day, with food rich in nutrition and nourishment and so whilst there is an element of my past I can't undo I can move past it, heal from it and become true to myself once more.

Natalia - vertigo

Natalia came to me with chronic illness that doctor's had been unable to diagnose. She'd contracted Covid 19 in the early days of it being upon us and had developed long Covid. Doctors were unable to truly see the cause of her conditions, only that she had them and so she had MRI and CAT scans and and still nothing became apparent as to why she was so fatigued, so dizzy she struggled being upright or lying down or why she had constant nausea and so much more. I carried out a full reading of her energy and found so many trapped emotional believes around herself, her looks, her weight and appearance generally and the fears of judgment by others these had caused her. Once we removed these energies her dizzy stopped, and it stopped almost immediately following the treatment to remove them. The root cause of this dizziness was pressure at the top of her central nervous system, pressing down on the base of the frontal lobe and causing a state of flux within the incredibly sensitive vagus nerve area. When I probed further asking why this was the case, why were these energies causing dizziness specifically, the reason I was given was that the pressure was being caused by her extensive belief system that she was lesser than everyone else and that she was therefore not fit to be seen in public. The energy created by this belief system was the cause of pressure on the cerebral cortex as it was telling the body that she did not wish to be an active participant in life anymore, that being able to participate, to be out in public, was to be judged and ridiculed and the Mind Body Connection dictated that the best way to stop this was to stop her from being able to be an active participant in life, hence debilitating dizziness that kept her indoors, hidden away and safe from judgement and scrutiny.

Shelagh - back and neck pain

Shelagh's back and neck pain was so severe she had been wearing a neck brace for many years. She had been told by Doctor's there was nothing that could be done, her spine was a 'mess' and given that she was a renal transplant patient she just had to accept the constant pain her body was in. I performed a full energy scan looking specifically for the cause of her back and neck pain:

"You have felt judged your whole life. This judgement has caused you to want to stay away from the world, to stay away from judgement and ridicule. To stay where you believe yourself to be safe and only to enter the world at times of your own choice and comfort. You do not wish to be seen in the world as being seen in the world leaves you open to criticism and judgement and this brings about a sense of fear and panic that you do not wish to experience again and so your body is making it so you do not have to go out if you do not wish to".

Shelagh's response to my question the day after treatment of 'how is that pain feeling' was 'what pain?!'. It had completely gone directly after treatment to remove these beliefs and energy's.

Anna - sinus and reproductive issues

Lentil & Coconut Soup

This soup is packed full of foods that boost your immune system, improve gut function (important in keeping your bodies natural defences up) and give your body energy whilst supporting cell growth. And the best bit is, it’s SO easy.

Immune Boosting:

Garlic is a big player in helping keep your body’s immune system healthy and strong. We’ve all eaten raw garlic at the onset of a bug, nasty but effective, right? Did you know that raw garlic also increases the number of T cells in the blood, which fight virus and reduce the length of time you feel symptoms?

Limes contain vitamin C, but they also contain polyphenols which help to regulate your immune responses. Regulation of immune response is required to protect us from autoreactive T cells. T cells protect us against infection and so it’s important that we protect them!

Ginger not only tastes wonderful, it sooths on many levels. It is naturally warming, acts as a natural decongestant, sooths coughs, colds and upset stomachs.

Spinach
is another vitamin C punch packer. It's also packed with antioxidants and beta carotene which may increase the infection-fighting ability of our immune systems.

Red chillies are incredible health boosters. They contain lots of vitamin A and C (nutrients which can boost the immune system) and capsaicin which can help clear congestion and phlegm.

Shallots contain allicin, a natural antibacterial and also have anti-inflammatory properties. Keeping inflammation at bay is essential to good immune function, healthy gut function, healthy adrenals and good energy levels.

Improving Gut Function:

Lentils play multiple roles. They help regulate existing cells and grow new ones, which improve the function of the immune system. They also improve gut function, boost adrenals and are a great source of protein.

Energy Boosting:

Coconut milk is one of my favourite good fats. Good dietary fats are essential to giving our bodies energy. They support cell growth, protect our organs and help keep us warm. Good fats are also essential in helping our bodies absorb nutrients from all food we eat.

Recipe

It’s tough for me to write this recipe down as I made it up and generally just throw it all in the pan, but here goes…

Ingredients:
1 tablespoon coconut oil
1 large shallot
1 large chunk ginger (thumb sized)
1 fresh lemongrass
6 garlic cloves
I red chilli, deseeded
1 litre vegan bouillon (or your stock of choice)
125 grams red lentils
125 grams yellow lentils
1 450g tin of full fat coconut milk
1 chopped leek
Spinach
1 lime if you cannot find fresh lemongrass
Salt & pepper to taste

Method:
This is super easy. I have a Ninja Chopper but a little food processor would work just as well to chop super quickly. If you have neither old fashion chopping is required.

Melt the coconut oil in the pot. Chop the shallot and chilli, grate the ginger, skin and mash the lemongrass, smash the garlic and throw it all in the pot and let it all sweat until the shallots are clear. Add the bouillon (or whatever stock you are using) and bring to the boil. Add the lentils and bring back to the boil. Once boiled turn down to a simmer and leave for 15 minutes or so until the lentils are cooked through. Add the coconut milk and leek and simmer for a further 10 minutes. Right at the end add the spinach and lime juice if using, serve and enjoy.

If the lentils are soaking up all of the bouillon liquid, add a bit more bouillon.

Easy peasy…enjoy!

Stress & Disease

Don't Settle for 'Managing' Stress

When someone comes to me saying 'I'd like to better manage my stress levels', my first question is always why. Why manage something? Why learn to live with it when you can get rid of it completely, heal on all levels and create the life you've always wanted? I've never once had anyone answer that as there is no reason at all. Modern medicine is set up to 'manage', holistic, natural and energy medicine is set up to heal.

So why heal, rather than manage from stress? We have been conditioned to believe that stress is a natural state for us. That in this modern world there is nothing to do but swallow a pill, but the absolute opposite is true, to 'manage' the stress on our body, adding pharmaceuticals to it only acts to increase the overall stress load on the body, thus creating even more acute states of dis-ease. Stress is not something we have to live with, it's not something we have to manage. Unless you have a sabre tooth tiger chasing you 24/7 there is absolutely no good or healthy reason why we should live in a state of fight or flight, otherwise known as stress.

Why should we heal rather than manage stress? While the stress response is a normal, and a much needed function for our bodies, being constantly stressed is making us sick, and it's making us more sick than we've ever been before.

  • Stress is the number one killer today. It is responsible for 80% of illnesses and is linked is to the top 6 biggest leading causes of death; heart disease, cancer, lung disease, liver disease, suicide and accidents.

  • Stress has been labeled the health epidemic of the 21st century yet it has become the normal state of being for most of us. We are the most materially comfortable mankind has ever been yet our modern lives, full of opportunity, have us anxious, stressed and exhausted.

  • At an atomic level there is only disease, stress. Why manage something like this when you can heal your body and mind completely?

Why are we so stressed?

Fear. Fear of the past (depression), fear of the future (anxiety) fear of the present (job, home life, relationship, the news and mass media). Fear is the emotion that sets off the stress response - remember the sabre tooth tiger? Fear & survival. If you've read my page on emotional energy cleansing then you have an understanding of how emotional energy becomes 'stuck' in us, and how this emotional energy starts to control our thoughts and behaviours, and essentially our environment. When these emotional energies are triggered (by say, someone making us feel insignificant) we go back to that small child who was made to feel insignificant, and we enter fear again, and in doing so we set off our stress response, and when this happens enough we stay in stress response.

Nutrition is another reason why we are so highly stressed now, more so than ever before. We rarely eat food anymore. You are told you are but unless it has come from the ground, unless it has living properties, it is not food. Processed, heated, refined, names on ingredients lists that can't be pronounced, sugar in everything, corrosive and combustible chemicals sprayed onto healthy food growing on farmlands by men in biohazard suits. If we want food, pure, untouched food just as it used to be we now have to pay an excess for organic, which is nothing more than real food before the men in biohazard suits sprayed it.

So what is stress?

Stress is your body's way of responding to any kind of danger or threat. When you sense danger—whether it's real or imagined—the body's defenses kick in and activate the "fight or flight" part of the autonomic nervous system, aka the sympathetic nervous system, which is our body's way of protecting us. We needed this when threats of being eaten by lions and tigers were an every day reality, when we needed our bodies to be agile to respond to the threat to save our life, but we no longer live with the threat of lions and tigers eating us and yet we are more chronically stressed than ever before, in fact, as I've said before, we are dying from stress.

Stress and our internal environment:

Human beings are an intrinsic community made up of 50 trillion cells, all talking to each other in some way, ensuring the system, the community, is healthy and flourishing. Each and every single one of those cells is intelligent beyond basic comprehension as proven by an experiment conducted by renowned Biologist Bruce Lipton whereby he put identical cells in a petri dish on one side of a table, and healthy food over on the other side of the table. He left the room briefly, giving the cells time to react and when he returned he found that the cells had moved toward the food. He then did the same experiment using toxins instead of healthy food and when he returned, he found the cells had done all they could to move away from the toxins. This is because there is a basic law of attraction and repulsion within out cells. When a cell is presented with something that is required for it's growth and reproduction, it will move toward it, when it is presented with a signal that threatens it's life, it will move away (growth vs protection). Cells will go back and forth based on the perception of their environment. The brain is also a part of this community and, as you are thinking your cells are reacting with growth or protection movements based on the environment they are being exposed to. This means if you're thinking, 'I don't know how I'll get through this meeting today, I'm so unprepared', 'my boss will think I'm no use', 'what if they all judge me', 'what if I'm no good', 'I am no good!', 'I look so fat and ugly and grotesque today', 'I can't believe I slept in, I'm so late, I don't have time to eat, I might get sacked', your cells start to go deeply into retraction, into protection and therefore into the stress response where adrenalin and cortisol course through the body, and when we think these thoughts every single day, we keep ourselves in the constant state of threat and therefore protection mode - stress. When we are in this constant state of stress our cells aren't able to grow and they can't reproduce (which they have to for health and vitality), meaning disease comes. It takes us longer to heal, especially when insomnia becomes our common bed fellow; we aren't sleeping and so we aren't regenerating whilst we sleep and so our cells become even more stressed and toxic and on and on we go, until we are so exhausted, so fatigued, so unwell we can't go on much longer without the aid and support of medication, which them puts even more of a toxic load on our already stressed cells.

Stress' impact on disease:

The simplest way to explain stresses impact on disease is to say that whilst our bodies are in fight or flight (sympathetic nervous system) they cannot also be in rest and digest (parasympathetic nervous system). They cannot be in 'growth' and 'protection' at the same time. Our bodies use huge amounts of energy when stressed, and they also use huge amounts of energy to function normally, regenerate and grow. If we are constantly stressed all of our energy is going into this stress response - to keep us fighting, running, protecting - we become deplete, we have no energy left to fuel our bodies normal functions as all of our energy goes into our arms and legs. Why? so we can run! The stress response was only supposed to be used in times when we needed to run to survive, and with all the energy in our arms and legs others systems such as the digestive system and the immune system go into retraction. They have no energy to function, hormonal issues arise, our organs start to struggle, anxiety and depression appear (did you know that +70% of the serotonin we need is produced in our gut?)and more and more symptoms ailments and disease follow.

Stress' impact on the immune system:

The immune system is a highly intricate system of defence for our entire body's. It is a very expensive system to run in terms of energy required, it needs huge amounts of energy to keep us protected. If we are stressed, exhausted, not sleeping well, deplete of energy, our immune systems are not functioning well. They are not protecting us. Have you ever spent the entire year working hard, and then Christmas comes, you take two weeks off work, go to visit the family and just stop. You relax...and you get sick. This is because you have been in a constant state of stress - fight or flight - your body has been keeping you 'alive' in it's mind, so when you stop 'running' your body comes out of stress response for a moment and the bugs get in because your immune system is so weak it can't protect you.

Another way to demonstrate the impact of stress on the immune system is within transplant patients. A transplanted organ is essentially a foreign object being inserted into someone's community of 50 trillion cells. This community does not recognise this foreign object and sees it as a threat and so the immune system kicks in, just as it would with any other foreign invader (bacteria, virus etc) and attacks the new organ. In order to stop the immune system from attacking the new organ (called rejection) patients are given high doses of immunosuppressant drugs and steroids - stress hormones.

I am exhausted just typing this; if you're living it, imagine how your cells feel experiencing it each and every day.

Create your stress free life

You can free yourself of stress and of all it's symptoms and negative effects on the body by working through an emotional cleansing plan with me; detoxing the body, detoxing the mind, detoxing the soul.

Most of my clients heal all symptoms within 8 treatments, some with more severe symptoms or who are simply older and have more negative energy to remove take 12. Regardless of whether it's 8 or 12 for you, it is 8 or 12 weeks, not years, it's not a life sentence hanging over you, something to constantly manage until it becomes something less manageable.

Depression

Healing From Depression

Do you suffer from depression, have tried medication or would rather not try it at all? Have you tried multiple therapies; CBT or other talking therapy? Whilst some of these may work and offer some kind of relief, it is usually minor or temporary, or both.

Yes, depression is a mood disorder but it does not just impact the mind. It has significant impact on both the body and spirit. Symptoms can cause you to feel as though your life is out of control, or that you have no control. Feelings of anger that you don't feel you have the right to have, pain, muscle fatigue and exhaustion. The depressed body is low in energy and mirrors pain being experienced in mind and spirit; hopelessness, pessimism, fear, melancholy, detachment and emptiness are felt as much physically as they are mentally.

Medication is aimed at one aspect, let's say serotonin or dopamine levels for example, but they can't work across the multi-faceted and complex layers that make up one individual and unique human being. I have seen some depression 'cure' treatments that state 70% of their clients experienced a 50% reduction in their symptoms. Which if your symptoms are incredibly tough may well save your life, but that is not a cure.

Healing depression with Reiki

I work to remove all aspects of negativity causing the body and mind to feel depressed. Every element of pain and all the symptoms that go along with depression. Everyone I have worked with who has suffered from depression has found their 'cure' through full body and mind healing. They have released all symptoms of depression, all physical pains and all other aspects that go hand in hand with depression; fibromyalgia, sciatica, anemia, food intolerances, sexual dysfunction etc. They have found their happy place, their equilibrium, and they have gone on to live, and continue to live, peaceful and content lives free from the negative environment that haunted them.

There is a saying that depression is looking back at the past and never a truer word has been spoken. I myself suffered depression over different periods of my life and in all cases it was because my life had changed from where I had been previously; I was looking back, longing to be who or where I was before. When I became ill and bed bound I'd spend hours looking through photographs of myself, grieving the loss of that person, each and every time adding to the cloud of depression hanging over me. When I learned about negative emotional energy - described in detail here on Emotional Energy Cleansing - and how the environment we give our bodies and minds creates disease and illness, and that we are all energy in movement as are emotions, thoughts and therefore illness and disease, my life changed dramatically. And when I discovered reiki and energy healing and that I could release these negative emotions forever creating my own inner peace and balance I had to make sure as many people as I could touch knew this and could heal from their own past trauma and ghosts.

The stories we tell ourselves breeds our depression

'Life is pointless', 'I am worthless', 'I don't deserve to be happy', 'happiness is for everyone else, not for me', 'I'm fat, ugly, monstrous, no one could possibly find me attractive'. Feelings of hopelessness and despair, a life lived that you can't ever get back. All of these and so much more have been found and released in myself, my family and friends and the clients I work with. There are so many reasons why we become prone to depression; we were neglected in some way, bullied, ignored, we feel unsupported in life and always have, we self-blame for everything, we felt unloved as children, we were shamed, carry guilt or have unexpressed anger. All of these build up negative emotional energy inside of us, blocking us, leaving our life force energy slow or stagnant until we are triggered into states of depression and despair. A trigger can be anything, the loss of a loved one, the breakdown of a relationship, the loss of a pet, a job, a home we loved. When the trigger sounds our negative emotional energy, our limiting self beliefs and all that we believe to be true about ourselves take over and there is little we can do to stop it, except face it, process it, release it and allow ourselves to heal.

Depression does not have to be a life sentence

Most of my clients heal their depression and all other symptoms within 8 treatments, some with more severe depression or who are simply older and have more negative energy to move, take 12. Regardless of whether it's 8 or 12 for you, it is 8 or 12 weeks, not years, it's not a life sentence hanging over you, the threat of it coming back each and every time a new medication works, or CBT alleviates it.

Anxiety & Panic Attacks

Creating An Anxiety Free Life

Have you tried CBT, herbs, hypnosis, anti anxiety medication, breathing, tapping, meditation and yoga or any of the many other tools available but still suffer from anxiety? Whilst these tools all have their uses, and I use many of them myself both personally and in my work with clients, until you take out the root cause of your anxiety, the negative programming causing it, they may not work and if they do they may be temporary.

Most of the tools I have mentioned above are great ways to manage anxiety, to bring yourself down out of an anxiety attack, but when you're anxiety is so intense it stops you from living life, from leaving the house, from hanging out with family and friends, from going for the dream job because you just can't face the interview for fear of not being good enough, then they are simply just not enough. Anxiety is a complex disorder, it is so much more than a pill could ever help with and until you fully understand what it is that is causing your anxiety and remove it completely, you will spend a lifetime merely managing the symptoms of attack after attack.

What is Anxiety?

In it's purest, most reduced form, anxiety is fear. Fear of the future, fear of what's to come, fear of being judged, fear of not being good enough.

Anxiety starts when we are knocked out of balance due to some kind of emotional trauma. When we are knocked out of balance we turn on the stress response in our body. This means we mobilise vast amounts of our bodies resources for what we perceive as some kind of threat. We turn on the sympathetic nervous system, also known as the flight or fight nervous system which gives the body a rush of stress hormones such as adrenalin and cortisol. Increased adrenalin in the body causes inflammation, which over a sustained amount of time will cause the body to start to slow down the metabolism. Either weight gain, and therefore more discomfort and mental stress, or dieting ensues. Dieting tells the already stressed body that famine is coming which slows the metabolism even more which starts to cause fatigue, sleep function issues, adrenal fatigue and gut problems. And on and on the merry-go-round goes.

What causes anxiety?

As children we learn from the people around us. We learn how to behave in the world, how to be in the world. Our small brains simply need love and to be kept safe, they are not advanced enough to make rational, emotional decisions based on what they see, they simply learn from exactly what they see.

A child who is told to stop complaining, or to stop 'blabbing' learns that what they have to say isn't important. The child who is told to stop crying learns that they're pain isn't important and isn't something that should be shown. The child whose parent doesn't have time to draw with them learns that they're not worthy. The child whose parent shows little interest in their performance learns that they are not good enough. The child who is told off and sent to their room learns that they are unlovable.

This child then grows into an adult unaware that these subconscious programmes are playing out in their heads 24/7. The drive to have the best career with the highest salary and the most fancy suits, the drive to have the best car, to out do everyone else, is more often than not seen as arrogance. The woman who rarely shows her gentle soft side is seen as cold hearted, the man who never cries or shows any kind of emotion is seen as a mean spirited, the woman who does cry is overly sensitive, but the reality is that these programmes are running, telling them that they are not good enough, not lovable, not worthy, a baby if they cry. These believes cause them to continue to push themselves to be better and better or to push people further and further away. With the programmes running telling them these story lines, stopping them from being who they truly are underneath the mask of conditioning anxiety starts to build as they try harder and harder to make everyone else happy, reducing and ignoring their own happiness in the process.

Why other forms of treatment might not work

When you're body is in a place of fear, of fight or flight, of stress response, the effect on the body and mind is so much more complex than just anxiety. I've already mentioned inflammation and metabolism function changes but there are also gut issues, skin conditions such as psoriasis and eczema, food allergies and intolerances and other environmental disturbances, sleep disturbances, aches and pains, sciatica, vertigo. The list is exhausting. A pill to quell the feeling of anxiousness or 6 weeks of CBT does not look at you as the multi-dimensional, complex being that you are. Nor does the Dr prescribing the pill take into account the knock on effect this chemical has on other parts and functions of the body. It becomes a vicious, visceral cycle of more pain, more stress, more fear.

Why how I work is different

I work with your energy, going deep into the layers of negative emotional energy and childhood conditioning that are the root cause of your anxiety. I peel back those layers one by one, removing them, transmuting them from negative energy to positive energy. Session by session you feel lighter, more energetic, less fearful, less in physical pain. You start to notice that you are functioning in the world better, and in 2-3 months with me you have uncovered you, the real you, the one you were never allowed to be for fear that taking the mask off would leave you alone in the world. You create a new you, a vibrant, happy, healthy, balanced you. You rediscover your sparkle.

Its not always easy, and it's not me that does the hard work. We use talking therapy, journaling, breathing, yoga & meditation. We work on mindset if that is an issue for you and we take you from a place of negativity to one of positivity. It's fast, it's relatively painless, and it's permanent. It's you, just as you were always meant to be. And it's beautiful.

"I now feel like I can finally be myself and not be ashamed of that. My self-worth has grown massively and I’m no longer overcome with social anxiety and can be confident in the outside world and even around my friends and family, which I struggled with before. I’ve learnt how to forgive myself and others who have hurt me and can now live a happy life without that always dragging me down. Getting out of bed used to be an impossible task but now I can’t wait to start the day and enjoy life"Elleshia, anxiety & depression.

Rediscover your sparkle

Most of my clients heal their anxiety and all other symptoms within 8 treatments, some with more severe symptoms or who are simply older and have more negative energy to remove take 12. Regardless of whether it's 8 or 12 for you, it is 8 or 12 weeks, not years, it's not a life sentence hanging over you, the threat of it coming back each and every time a new medication is prescribed or CBT alleviates it.

Hormones & Fertility

Hormonal Health, Fertility & Infertility

Have you received a diagnosis of infertility, or are you concerned that hormonal problems will prevent you from conceiving in future?

Have you had repeated unsuccessful rounds of fertility treatment? Perhaps a diagnosis of unexplained infertility is leaving you confused as to where to turn now.

Infertility is on the rise, but the way that it is treated can be woefully inadequate. Misdiagnosis is rife, and couples are often pushed through to IVF without any attempt to look at the bigger picture, and the root and real cause of their symptoms. They get caught in a costly process of repeating cycles of treatment which gets more and more stressful and can have a devastating effect on mental health.

Unexplained infertility can be one of the most challenging diagnosis to face, and is becoming increasingly common.

There is an alternative to assisted conception.

We offer an alternative to IVF.

Did you know the success rate of IVF on a healthy 35 year old is only 33%?

We believe that IVF should be a last resort, and that many people, given the right treatment and conditions can heal the mind body and eventually conceive naturally.

Infertility is a symptom.

Our bodies work intelligently to protect us and keep us alive. The endocrine system is very delicate and can be easily compromised. The contraceptive pill, poor diet, external toxins, high stress, trauma and emotional blocks can all shut down the female reproductive system. An yet none of these factors are considered in allopathic medicine. The solution is to administer drugs to treat the symptoms, not to heal the root cause.

We work to heal fertility holistically, getting to the root cause, and creating the space for your body to rebalance and heal. When the root cause is found, healing happens easily and quickly.

We work with common fertility issues such as PCOS, endometriosis as well as unexplained infertility.

We address the mind body connection, working to heal and detoxify at a physical, emotional and energetic level. All aspects are crucial when it comes to infertility and hormonal balance.

Nutrition and powerful naturopathic techniques are used to detoxify and rebalance the liver, and reproductive organs.

Most fertility patients can heal within a very short amount of time and sessions, and also experience many other positive side effects. The majority of our patients conceive naturally with 6-12 months of their treatment and with our hormone and fertility kick start retreat this could be even less.

I had never had Reiki before but decided to try it after having tried medications and counselling for my depression and anxiety. After only a few sessions with Kerry I am amazed at how much my depression has lifted and I am no longer held back by anxiety. I would definitely recommend Reiki with Kerry to anyone.

I was really sceptical about this Reiki stuff, but I was surprised how relaxed I felt after my session with Kerry and have continued to go back as per her treatment plan suggestion. Would recommend anyone to give it a go

Reiki with Kerry is amazing, it's like learning your own internal gossip, that you had no idea was there
